When hard water passes through a Waterside water softener, it acts like an ion exchanger.
The resins it contains releases sodium or potassium to the water in exchange for calcium and minerals.
For every calcium ion removed, two sodium ions take its place. Since the resins lose their effectiveness when their salts are depleted, they have to undergo the process of regeneration.
Regeneration merely means that salts, either sodium or potassium, are added to the brine tank to replenish the salts lost during the exchange cycles.
Waterside Water Softener Models
1. MC Ultra S Range 450/550This water softner has an advanced memory electronic control system (AMECS) which allows the softener to adjust flow rates according to demand. A built-in salt alarm is activated every time the salt levels dip, so you don't have to keep on checking for the salt level or remember when to refill the tank.
Its compact size allows you to store it in any location, under the sink or inside a kitchen cabinet. This series also has several innovations such as the lifestyle monitor, proportional brining, and high efficiency resin to optimize salt, water, and energy usage.
Another feature of the MC 450/550 is its salt flexibility. You can choose either the handier block salt or the more efficient table salt. Just press a button and your Waterside water softener will adjust accordingly.
2. Waterside MC 350
The MC 350 Waterside model is one of the simplest water softeners available. It is also one of the easiest to use. All you need to do is to set the time of day and the water condition values then you can go about doing all your other chores while the MC 350 softens your water for you.
Of course, you can adjust the setting every now and again to meet your changing water needs. Like the MC 450 and 550, it has a salt alarm and can be stored inside the cupboard or under the sink. The high quality resin and proportional brining ensure a more than adequate amount of softened water while making sure that waste is kept to the minimum.
3. DX500 Twin Tank Softener
In spite of its higher work capacity (it can supply water for a family of up to 15), this model is still economical and compact. The DX500 provides a continuous supply of softened water since it can alternate regeneration and softening between the two tanks.
4. LC25
The LC25 can be used for either domestic or commercial use. This series, like all the other Waterside models has proportional brining and a high efficiency resin. It has both a timer and meter-controlled model to match your needs.
