You can have it in your tap, water faucet, or even in the pitcher. There are also certain replacement filers that will not only capture visible particles such as stones, sand, and silt, and clay, but it may even hinder the entry of bacteria and germs.
How To Replace The Water Filter Cartridge
1. Ensure that you are able to attach the water filter replacement cartridge regularly.
You need to periodically change the cartridge of your water filter. If you’re thinking of what’s the ideal interval, give your cartridges at most three months before you consider changing it.
2. Cut the water supply.
Before you can actually replace your cartridge, you need to turn off the water supply first. Normally, you need to go outside and look for the water pump before you can actually cut the water supply.
However, if you already have the supply line right at your own home, then it will be very convenient for you. It’s found before the water filter.
3. Decrease the pressure in your cartridge.
Next to the water supply, you need to reduce the amount of pressure that is currently present in your cartridge prior to changing it with a new one. Else, you’ll be surprised of how much water you’ll be receiving.
There are many ways on how you can remove the pressure. One of these is to turn on the faucets that are located in your yard, kitchen, or perhaps in your bathroom.
4. Remove the housing.
There’s a case that envelops cartridges, and you have to get rid of it temporarily. It’s easy for you to determine which one it is since the case is usually made from PVC pipes or hard plastic. Unscrew the grooves.
5. Clean the area.
Don’t immediately attach the water filter replacement cartridge after you remove the old one. You still have to clear the area from any debris, sediment, or impurity.
Think of starting a clean slate with your water replacement cartridge. Once you’re done with this, you can then attach the housing again, relieve the pressure from the cartridge, and then turn on the water supply.
