The PUR water cooler and dispenser is designed to fit on a shelf in your refrigerator and not take up a lot of space. It is only 5'1 inches wide so takes up very little space, but at 9'3 inches high and 5 inches long, it holds plenty of water. In fact, when full it will cool 18 8 ounce glasses of water.
The PUR water dispenser is designed to sit in the sink to fill. The fill tray is designed to be easy to fill and distribute the weight evenly so that it is easy to carry back to the refrigerator. Easy to use handles make it easy to carry as well.
The water is filtered using a replaceable filter that is purchased separately. An indicator light alerts you when the filter needs to be changed. Each filter will last from one to two months depending on how much water you filter for a total of 40 gallons.
The two stage filtration system is very effective at removing lead and removes up to 99.9% of microbiological cysts while leaving the fluoride in the water and producing healthy, flavorful water. It also removes as much as 96% of the pharmaceutical residue that is often found in city water supplies.
All PUR products are tested and certified by NSF International, an independent agency that administers a series of rigorous tests for water purification. Water is fresh tasting and without unpleasant odors, such as chlorine.
The easy access pour spout makes getting a glass of water a breeze. No fussing with refrigerator water dispensers that do not often do an adequate job of filtering water and there's no need to remove a pitcher from the refrigerator.
Smaller PUR pitchers do filter the water just as well but they require constant filling which can be annoying if you happen to use a lot of water in the course of a day.
The PUR water cooler is easy to clean as well. When changing the filter all you have to do is wash it with hot soap and water and rinse well. Put in a new filter, fill it with water, set it in the refrigerator, and you're good to go with another gallon of chilled, filtered water.
It's the perfect compromise between size and water availability. It holds plenty of water while not taking up a lot of space and it doesn't get in the way like a faucet mount filter can.
