The LG refrigerator water filters are well-known not only for getting rid of impurities in the water but also in enhancing its odor and flavor.

The great thing about these products is that they can easily be changed once their expiration date is at hand.

There are many benefits that you can reap out of using an LG water filter in your refrigerator.

First of all, they will ensure cold water that is safe and great-tasting for your family. This is because aside from being installed on the cold water line of your refrigerator unit, these water filters can also get rid of quite a number of impurities that could be found in water.

LG refrigerator water filters are guaranteed to reduce traces of mercury in water by 96.7 percent at pH 6.5 and by 91.2 percent at pH 8.5. Lead can also be lessened by these filters by 99.31 percent and 99.35 percent at pH 8.5 and 6.5, respectively.

Replacing and Changing LG Water Filters

Although LG refrigerator water filters are quite effective in protecting your family from harmful impurities that can be found in water, they should still be replaced once their life span is at an end. There are many instances when you should already change the filter, and the most common of these is when it has already reached its full life span of six months.

However, as the life of your filter would also depend on your family's water consumption and the hardness or the amount of impurities found in your water, you would also have to watch out for the indicator light on your filter, which would turn on if the filter needs to be changed.

Changing the LG refrigerator water filter is quite easy. All you have to do is to rotate its cartridge counterclockwise by a quarter degree and then pull it out. After this, you will just need to insert the new cartridge on the slot of the old one and then give it a quarter turn clockwise to lock it in place.

Things to Remember When Using LG Refrigerator Water Filters

Although LG water filters are known to effectively reduce impurities in water, it is still best to use them with water that is known to be safe and clean already.

If possible, the water that should go through these water filters should have already gone sufficient disinfection first.

To ensure that you won't experience water leakage, always make sure that you install it on lines for cold water only and to always keep it from freezing by taking it out in temperatures already registering below 33 degrees F.
