How Does a Catalytic Water Softener Work?
Water is passed through a chamber where it is exposed to a sudden fall in pressure. This pressure drop causes the formation of calcium crystals. The water then continues to another chamber where the catalytic alloys are located.The movement of the water over the catalytic surface hastens the development of more calcium crystals. The water then passes through a strong magnet which keeps the calcium crystals produced during the previous two steps dissolved for approximately one to three days. The water which moves through these processes in a catalytic softner comes out softer.
A catalytic water softener has almost all the benefits of the traditional salt-type water softener:
