Brita Water Purifier
For Chlorine-Free Tasting Water

Brita water purifier is one of the many products from Brita company which offers various filtration and purifying methods such as pitchers, faucet and refrigerator filters.

The history of Brita purifiers begins in 1966 when Heinz Hankammer developed a filter that desalinated water for portability, and established his filter company which he called Brita, named after his daughter.

His son Markus expanded the company globally and Brita are now the biggest freestanding home water purifiers in the world.

Brita water purifiers are available in different products for different consumer needs and preferences.

These products also vary per country, for example the products available in the United States are pitchers, faucet mounts and refrigerator filters, while in Australia, there are pitcher or jug and cask systems, faucet mounts and filtered sports bottles.

In Germany, where Britta all started, they have a range of products for household, professional and integrated systems. Household products include pitchers, coffeemakers, water heaters, and cartridges for your home faucets and tanks.

Professional products are water purifying systems for water coolers, coffee machines, dishwashers, water dispensers and vending machines. Integrated systems are products with the filters already found within, such as refrigerators, electric kettles, coffee makers and water dispensers.

Whatever products are available in your country, the Brita guarantee of clean and delicious water is a constant. Brita water purifiers remove sediments and dangerous elements such as lead, mercury, copper and cadmium, may exist in different amounts in your water sources.

Brita water purifiers actually effectively remove 98 to 99% of lead from your tap water. Additionally, your water not only smells chlorine-free, it also tastes chlorine-free.

Brita Water Filtration Chrome Pitcher

The Brita Water Filtration Chrome Pitcher is a water purifier with a sharp-looking chrome lid.

Big families will probably prefer the Brita Ultramax dispenser because it can hold more water, but the pitcher is mighty fine for use in dorms, small apartments and for you and your hubby to take to the office, and have enough drinking water throughout the workday.

Unlike other Brita pitchers that can only carry 6 glasses of water, the Brita Chrome Pitcher is big enough for eight glasses.

It's also very convenient to fit into your refrigerator and to bring to the dining table, and quite easy to pour into your glasses for drinking. When you replace the filter, you might get shocked at what you see there - all the gunk that you could have been drinking without the pitcher.

Another advantage to the chrome water pitcher is, since it is small, it is easier to clean and doesn't get moldy. Additionally, the filter actually prevents bacteria from growing in the filter, which prolongs the filter's life.

Brita Dispenser Optimax

Families and small companies will prefer to use the Brita Dispenser Optimax, with its larger capacity for 1.3 gallons of drinking water.

The dispenser has the standard Brita advanced water purification system, decreasing amounts of lead, chlorine, zinc, cadmium, benzene, mercury and sediment from your water. It is bigger than the pitcher, yet also fits neatly in your refrigerator and is a no-fuss entity for your countertop.

The Ultramax dispenser has a nifty digital sensor that indicates when the filter should be replaced, and the product will come with a battery for the sensor that will last up to five years of use.

Some customers are worried about mold, since the dispenser is rather large. However, simple regular cleaning should prevent mold from forming. The Brita dispenser is easy to clean - simple dishwashing soap or detergent will do.

If you're not going to drink a lot of water, though, it might be better to get a pitcher instead - the Brita dispenser is for many persons needing more water than the pitcher can provide.

Another downside to the Brita dispenser is that it may be too heavy to carry to the refrigerator once it's been refilled with water. The answer to that is the Brita refrigerator water filter.

Brita Refrigerator Water Purifiers / Filters

Brita is also making refrigerator filters that are compatible with just about any brand and size of refrigerator.

There are of course different units for different refrigerators, but all fridges should be able to get their own Brita water purifier easily installed.

Certain units even fit Kenmore and Whirlpool refrigerators, even if these fridges have their own filters.
