Atmospheric Water Generator
You Could Also Call It An Air Water Purifier

The atmospheric water generator is a special device that is some kind of air water purifier.

This generator - also called atmospheric condenser - transforms the air of a household into water, either hot or cold.

Here's how it works; an the atmospheric water generator sucks in air and lets its flow towards a cooled coil.

It is the coil's job to condense the humidity into liquid form.

This liquid form is then purified through an ultraviolet light that kills bacteria present in the air. Afterwards, charcoal filters do the job of removing solids in the filtered water before the water is circulated into a tank.

Its operations are dependent on the relative humidity of the surroundings, as well as the temperature of the air circulating inside the household. They are effective in a threshold of at least 15.5 degrees Celcius or 60 degrees Fahrenheit, and at least 30% of relative humidity.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Using Atmospheric Water Generators / Purifiers

Using an air water purifier has several advantages, as well as drawbacks in its usage. The first and most obvious advantage is less expense when it comes to water consumption. Since an air water purifier creates water out of thin air-literally-there is no order water by the bottle or gallons.

Purified water, of course, is a given. Airborne particles are abundant, much more than waterborne organisms, but this piece of technology has taken care of that with its two-stage filtering system.

One disadvantage of such technology is its limitation in the production of water. It mainly thrives on the volume of water present in any given temperature hence if there is a high amount of water vapor in your household's temperature, you can enjoy an abundant supply of water. If there is a drastic reduction in the relative humidity of your house, then the water supply generated by your air water purifier could suffer a decline.

Recommended Atmospheric Water Generator

There are quite a few examples of these machines out in the market. Since this is still a developing technology-technically, it is still in its infancy-so there are still a limited number of these products available.

One example is the GH-KT-1050 manufactured by Air Dew. It is manufactured by a South Korea-based company, and is available from that country only.

The GH-KT-1050 uses a dual compressor refrigerant system. Its two compressors are: a 405-watt water making compressor, and a 125-watt water cooling compressor. It uses an R-134a refrigerant.

The GH-KT-1050 is capable of producing up to 2-24 liters every day depending on conditions in its working environment. This capability is further enhanced by an optional double EVA system, making it capable of delivering up to 3-40 liters everyday. It can store up to 40 liters of water in its holding tank.

The GH-KT-1050 is capable of both cold and hot water production. For making cold water, it has a 4-liter cold water reservoir that is controlled by a thermostat unit. For its hot water production, it has a 3.5-liter reservoir with a 500-watt sheath heater. This heating system is controlled by Auto Bimetal.

The water it produces has a pH level of at least 6.5 and at most 7.5. TDS is below the 40 mark, while bacterial growth is virtually none. In short, it produces 100% safe, and drinkable water.

The GH-KT-1050 atmospheric water generator carries an array of safety measures. It has a double overflow and overheat protectors, and a child safety lock to make it ideal to use around children. In case of leakage, it automatically shuts itself off and beeps to alert its owner of such an event.
